ABOUT ME

First and foremost, yes, my surname really is Kenya.

I am an Africanfuturist, womanist award-winning data journalist from Kenya. I am currently the Data Team Lead at the Africa Journalism Women Project.

When I have time I write as a freelancer on various topics including science, gender, travel, mental health, tech, the internet, literature, pop-culture and career development.

I have also worked in communications, PR and social media management.

I am pursuing a joint Master’s Degree in Journalism, Media and Globalisation at Aarhus University, the Danish School of Media and Journalism in Denmark and Charles University in the Czech Republic under the Erasmus Mundus scholarship programme.

I started my journalism career at Daystar University as an editor for the school publications, Involvement Newspaper and Daystar Oracle and obtained a B.A. in Communication.
